Sioux Falls, South Dakota native, Mike Robinson a.k.a. Ecliptik began producing music six years ago. What began as a fun past time has since developed into his personal passion. Many varieties of music have inspired Elciptik’s music; from death metal to Eurodance and everything in between. Ecliptik creates electronic music from scratch based in melodic layers which establish intensity. Together with thick basslines that drag you in, the instruments hypnotize you in a symphony of sound. Ecliptik does more than just write songs, he envelopes them with emotion that allows you to auditorally experience what is happening in his life and mind. Hoping to take you on a journey through your soul, and a trip through the galaxy, Ecliptik constantly pushes his music to the next level and dimension. So close your eyes and maximize the volume. Let these tracks take you as far as you can imagine into what is…..Ecliptik.
Onward We March
A battle between titans is about to take place and only Ecliptik has the power to prevent these two diametrically opposed forces destroying everything in their path. Capturing the primal, organic bounce of Australia’s “Opiou” and infusing it with the soaring synthetic melodies and highly distorted basslines of “Unlimited Gravity”, Ecliptik leads his futuristic, laser-armed hordes into wild and glorious battle.
With “Aurora Astralis”, Ecliptik recreates through music one of natures most spectacular phenomenon, the Southern Lights. As flares of solar wind collide violently with the planet’s upper atmosphere an extraordinary and magnificent burst of brilliant light is unleashed over the stark, glacial environment of Antarctica. Ecliptik melds the vibrant power of the aurora with the icy bleakness of the surroundings to create a frigid sonic masterpiece.
In sharp contrast to the crisp and bleak atmosphere evoked by Aurora Astralis, Aurora Borealis is an up-tempo, melodic exploration of the northern-most reaches of our planet. Ecliptik wields powerful and uplifting melodies with enough force to illuminate the Arctic night and send cascades of color down upon the sparkling snow.
Davey Jones Locker
“Davey Jones Locker” is a remarkable exhibition of Ecliptik’s sound-design as well as his production; each and every sound is meticulous crafted to conjure up feelings towards the fathomless power of the ocean. Imagine swimming through the deepest, darkest cavern at the bottom of a raging sea; this is the sound-scape portrayed by the aquatic rhythms of “Davey Jones Locker”.
“Welcome Home” is a long-forgotten bass-driven hymn describing the triumphant return of an ancient, intelligent species that communicates only through sub-bass frequencies.
